There is a single mesh and solid sheet also given in the package that helpdry out small herbs and make fruit roll ups. The automatic shut off timer helps lock in the nutrition and flavor all the while ensuring safety measures against overheating. The preset temperature levels vary between 95 degrees Fahrenheit and 158 degrees Fahrenheit.
Thermostat can be set between 95° to 158° F. Non-stick fine mesh sheet that allows your herbs and other small foods to dry properly. A solid sheet to make fruit snacks and it even prevents overheating protection. Follows the guidelines of the US Electrical Safety Regulations ETL.
The horizontal airflow is ideal for drying. It has a full temperature range of 95-158 degrees, which is excellent for most foods. It has a drip tray on the bottom, which we think is an inspired idea. We wish more food dehydrators had one as it makes for easier cleaning.
The auto-off feature offers peace of mind since cooks don’t have to check constantly to make sure their food isn’t drying out. Plus, the Ivation complies with the US Electrical Safety Regulations.
The Ivation Premium Electric Food Dehydrator comes complete with six removable and height adjustable drying racks that can each support up to one pound of food. Both solid and mesh cooking sheets are included for food drying versatility.
What reviewers didn't like
The dehydrator gave off a very strong stench in its initial running.
The lower wattage results in less heating power and longer drying times. Using a food dehydrator is already such a long process, anything that adds to it is a pain. The fact that the plastic trays are not BPA free is also a detractor. It can also be slightly noisy, which is pretty typical.
There is no instruction manual. While the design does make this dehydrator easy to use, it would be nice to have a manual for trouble shooting or tips. The dehydrator arrives in a box with absolutely no written assistance.
Several unsatisfied customers have stated the machine itself is flimsy and some even say that it started showing signs of wear and tear in under a year.
