For this price, you get solid sound quality, durability and an extremely comfortable headset.
As for the comfort factor, these earpads are massive and they rest comfortably against your head without putting any pressure whatsoever on your head or your ears.
The HyperX Cloud is a very comfortable headset. The 100% memory foam on the headband lends itself well to a nice, long gaming session
Out of the box, the HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset is extremely lightweight and positively looks like a PlayStation 4 headset from its stylised design and more importantly has the PlayStation logo branded on the headband, including its blue and black colouring.
The audio was crystal clear and even handled games with surround sound pretty well.
However, the HyperX Cloud for PS4 has also been designed to be durable and last as long as possible. Constructed of aluminium, powder coated in PlayStation blue, the headset is super sturdy and likely to survive accidentally being sat on.
In terms of comfort, the HyperX Cloud still nails it, the soft ear cushions allow for comfort after wearing for long periods of time
What reviewers didn't like
Only available in black/blue color.
I suspect Sony will solve this low volume issue in some manner when their next console rolls around, unless they cut the headphone jack entirely.
The one issue with the headset is that there is a cover for the microphone port that came with a small rubber cover for the port. That small cover is already lost.
Honestly, the only thing that bugged me with the HyperX Cloud is the microphone’s construction.
One of the things I do not like about wired headsets is the placement of the controls.
One issue you may find with a wired headset is some input lag from time to time. This isn’t the fault of the headset and is actually a known issue with the PS4.
The only gripes is the leatherette can be uncomfortable during a hot season as the heat is trapped in the ear cushions as compared to the cloth version that allows it to breathe.
