What reviewers liked
Hoover's WindTunnel 3 tech creates 3 suction channels to lift and remove pet hair and dirt. The bagless model and washable filter mean you won’t have to purchase replacements or find yourself without a bag and unable to vacuum before company arrives. It comes with a unique Pet Turbo tool to remove upholstery stains, and a HEPA filter to keep pet dirt out of the air.
Reviewers liked the overall suction power of the vacuum, as well as the included tools. Pet owners were overall very pleased with performance and were astonished by the amount of pet hair picked up by this model that their previous vacuums missed. Everyday cleaning of dirt and dust was also satisfactory, and reviewers found no problems switching from carpets to bare floors, nor did they notice any decrease in performance based on flooring type.
The sweeper is very light and easy to maneuver around corners. It is versatile – cleaning on many surfaces. Cleans your house very well because of its good suction. Does not take up much space.
Great for pet owners, bags are easy to change, excellent performance on carpet and hard floors.
Features multi-cyclonic core technology that ensures that the unit never loses suction and offers remarkable suction power.
Highs: Excelled at removing embedded dirt from carpets. - Performed well when cleaning bare floors, ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and hardwood floors. - Did well at picking up pet hair, useful if you have a cat or dog. - Excelled at capturing all the dust it picks up, important if you have allergies or other respiratory issues. - Strong tool airflow, which matters if you will be using the vacuum's accessories for cleaning. - Has a manual carpet-height adjustment, which is better than automatic systems at matching the brush to the surface. - Has a retractable cord, which lets you rewind via a slight tug or a pushbutton.
Good performance on picking up embedded dirt. Excellent performance on pet hair. Did not tip in any direction. Automatic cord rewind made for easy storage
This Hoover upright vacuum has a sturdy handle for carrying the vacuum as needed. It also contains an easy-to-read cleaning mode knob, which allows users to change the mode of the vacuum depending on the style of cleaning they’re trying to complete.
I really like Hoover's dirt cups. Most of the models have been very generous at this point. This one has a capacity of .65 gallons (approx. 2.5 liters), big enough to receive dust and debris from 400 sqm (depending on the cleanness level). It can be removed fairly easy from the appliance by pressing the release bottom located conveniently at the top of the vacuum, and the dirt may be eliminated from the bottom of the cup by pressing the release lever positioned on the cup.
What reviewers didn't like
There were a few drawbacks pointed out by reviewers. Even though the unit is equipped with a bumper guard to protect furniture, the bulkier canister made it hard to get into tighter spaces and could ding furniture if care isn’t taken. The model is also not equipped with a light, making it difficult to see when vacuuming in darker spaces, such as closets.
The controls are in awkward places. It tends to fall over, so it must be used with extra support.
Noisy, no brush attachment, not self-propelled.
The lack of a shutoff switch for the brush roll means it's not the best for use on hardwood floors.
Lows: You must bend to adjust the pile height. - Requires manually emptying the bin, which is messier and sometimes presents problems for those with allergies or other respiratory issues. - Lacks suction control, which helps protect drapes when using tools. - Lacks a brush on/off switch, which safeguards bare floors and prevents scattered dust and debris.
No on/off brush control. Adjusting for different carpet heights proved difficult for many
With regard to turning radius, the vacuum is able to swivel from side to side fairly well. That said, it does require a bit of force from the user. The heavier weight of the Windtunnel makes maneuvering turns a bit tougher than some other uprights we have tested.
I wish the retractable cord was a little bit higher. I just have to keep on going under the vacuum cleaner to get it.
