What reviewers didn't like

The lower setting is very quiet, but the higher ones can be a bit loud, so you may not want to use these if the air purifier is in your bedroom and you’re trying to sleep.
However, the downside of an ionic air filter is an emission of ozone, which can irritate asthma or other breathing issues. Sadly, we don’t have the on/off button for this function on Honeywell HFD-120-Q. This is one of the most reasons why you should not use this air purifier.
Relatively-low CADR ratings.
At the first use, it emits plastic smell.
The filter is less effective than HEPA.
System lacks true HEPA filter. The 3-step filtration system will not do a good job at capturing a lot of airborne particles under 2 microns. This includes many allergens and bacteria
Not powerful enough for large rooms.
Does not come with a timer feature.
Some said cleaning it is a bit tedious, but since you don’t need to do it that often, it is still easy to keep clean.
Little noisy.
The carbon filter is sold as an independent item.
Not strong enough for large rooms.
You can’t turn the ionizer off.
Is not very effective against VOCs and germs.
Normally, it emits unpleasant smell when it heats.
Most Honeywell units lack activated carbon or other additives which make them ineffective for odors or chemicals. This applies to the Honeywell 120-Q air purifier as well.
Slight concern about the ionizer, especially about whether it produces ozone.
Only removes particles of 2 microns and larger - smoke particles are smaller
One of the trends that were noticed were several reviewers stating the unit stopped oscillating after a period of a few months of ownership. This could potentially be isolated instances of faulty units as many reviewers conversely stated their units performed optimally for many months but it was still a trend to be noticed.
