Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

A great value. The Hiker Hunger poles are lightweight, feature cork handles, and a pack smaller than most other models. These poles come with quite a few attachments, more than we see in most other poles. Snow baskets, trekking baskets, and two sets of rubber tips to cover the carbide tips are all included. These make the Hiker Hunger one of the more versatile models.
You’ll be able to use them to dig into piles of shake or even wet shale. As such, you should have no issues on the thicker or firmer ground where you want to make sure you stay upright.

Cork will over time will conform to the shape of your hand and Hiker Hunger also thoughtfully put EVA foam grips under the handles so you can choke up on them with the going gets steep. The incredibly tough and durable tungsten carbide tips with rubber tips will last a longtime and are interchangeable depending on the type of hiking you’re doing.
We love the way these Hiker Hunger Carbon Fiber Trekking Poles look and like the way they perform even better. These are ultra-light, tough, well-balanced, versatile trekking poles that are going to help you find the energy to crest that distant ridge or find your way through Alpine mountain passes.
With both poles weighing a cumulative total of 15.2 ounces, these are arguably the lightest walking poles out there. Despite their incredible light weight, strength and performance of these tips are not compromised in any way.
They are light weight, adjustable with secure lock technique and can be easily stored in the bag pack when not in use. Another important feature of these trekking poles is that they are very sturdy and give support to people on the little up and down especially senior citizens.
The carbon fiber poles ship with hiking baskets, snow baskets and two sets of rubber tips. An outstanding bundle for such a low price tag. These poles are best suited for hikers who want a pair of lightweight poles that won't break the bank.

What reviewers didn't like

The carbon fiber weave in the shafts is quite thin. This saves weight, but makes them much more prone to breaking. We weren't as psyched on the locking mechanisms because they're built out of plastic and don't feel as strong as metal versions featured on other models in our review.
If you’re looking for poles with the latest advanced features these might not be for you. You won’t find spring loaded or anti-shock tips here.
-
Considerably more expensive than ordinary hiking poles. Rubber tips may occasionally fall off though this is a rare complaint.
Aluminum can last longer and does not break as easily.
