From The Manufacturer

The Halo SleepSack wearable blanket replaces loose blankets in the crib that can cover your baby’s face and interfere with breathing. In addition to sleeping safer, it helps babies sleep better, too. It’s a warm cuddly blanket they can’t kick off; ensuring baby sleeps soundly throughout the night. Inverted zipper for easy diaper changes. Unique, roomy sack design does not restrict baby’s legs to ensure proper hip development. It is recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as ‘Hip Healthy’. Sleeveless to help reduce the risk of overheating. Arm and neck openings sized for a safer fit. Dress your baby in a bodysuit, coverall or pajamas underneath the wearable blanket. Back is Best’ embroidery reminds all caregivers to put your baby on her back to sleep. Our founder, Bill Schmid and his wife lost their first born to SIDS. From this tragedy, HALO and its mission were born. Today, HALO SleepSack Wearable Blankets are the #1 trusted choice* of hospitals and are used to help babies sleep safely from the start. Help us in our mission to fight SIDS and keep all babies sleeping safely – a portion of your purchase will be used in partnership with non-profits and hospitals dedicated to educating families on safe sleep practices.

Expert Reviews

What experts liked

By design, it is big to provide plenty of wiggle space. Cotton is usually stretchy, and so you are better off with a bigger one that will contain the baby even when they kick.
Changing a diaper is simple because the zipper is inverted and the SleepSack does not need to be removed. This is a great feature, as there have been a few occasions where I’ve had to change a diaper in the middle of the night. I’m all about a quick diaper change that doesn’t disturb my baby too much!
It is also zippered to eases diaper change and has unique embroidery (back is best) for safety. Whenever you are laying your baby to sleep, it reminds you to lay your baby on his or her back to prevent suffocation.
Offers two sleep sack styles for more options. Having two sleep styles readily available gives parents options as they figure out what their baby likes. Swaddle-style sleep sack has three wrapping options – arms in, hands to face, one or both arms out. Users like having extra options, especially parents of unpredictable newborns.
Truly, this wearable blanket is the perfect alternative to swaddles and is great because they keep the babies snug but still free to move around their hands (no sleeves to prevent overheating) and feet.
Not only do the majority of users acknowledge the high quality of the materials (the cotton is really soft and nice), but they also positively respond in favor of this wearable blanket due to its “upside down” zipper which means many parents will sleep more soundly knowing their little ones are not at risk of SIDS.
Furthermore, this blanket has a roomy and unique sack design that will not restrict your baby’s legs, thereby, ensuring that the hips of your young one develop properly.

The neck on this sleepsack is curiously way too big in proportion to the rest of the sleepsack. This makes it easy for it to bunch up over baby’s face when they’re sleeping and could present a safety hazard.
Made from 100% lightweight cotton, the HALO SleepSack comes in four different sizes that can fit babies up to 24 months old.
Our favorite part is how the zip opens from the bottom for easy diapering, plus there are no sleeves to counter the chances of overheating.

What experts didn't like

The plastic zipper gets caught n the fabric several times.
Shifts while baby sleeps. Both sacks tend to creep up the baby’s face during sleep.
The arm opening is a little too small

Could ride up over baby’s mouth while sleeping
One thing to note is that the armholes aren't adjustable, which is a common complaint among most sleep sacks. While this may cause your baby's arms to slip out on occasion, it's generally not a big concern.
The plastic zipper may be flimsy
