What experts liked

We love GreenLife’s pots and pans because they’re designed to release even the stickiest of foods—like melted cheese or eggs—with a simple swipe of a sponge, thanks to Thermolon™, a ceramic, nonstick coating. This 16-piece cookware set also comes in six colors, which makes color-coordinating your kitchen a breeze.
- Good Housekeeping
It comes in a rainbow of colors, and the pans are surprisingly light, which makes them very easy to use and handle (despite the fact that the handles on the stockpot have a rather odd shape).
- allrecipes
Comes as a full kitchen set. All items are dishwasher safe. Available in a number of cool colors. Designed to be very durable.
- Chef's Resource
PFOA, PFAS, lead, and cadmium Free. Oven Safe up to 350F. Suitable for gas stove. Excellent heat retention. Sturdy Aluminium Reinforced Body. Easy to Clean. Dishwasher Safe.
- Kitchen Cookware Reviews
Good for your health and the environment. Great color choices. Affordable price. Comes with utensils. Dishwasher safe.
- Mom Dot
Set includes mini frying pan. PFOA, PFAS, lead and cadmium free. Oven safe up to 350 degrees. Ergonomic soft grip handles. Dishwasher safe.
- Cook Taste Eat
First off, the handles are the most comfortable of any pot I have ever used. They never get hot, they are easy to hold, and comfortable. The pots and the pans are a supreme non-stick surface. They are all dishwasher safe, however you really won't need to put these through a wash cycle. Everything wipes clean with very little effort. All the handles are attached securely, and the lids fit well. I like the glass lids as you can see how everything is cooking.

What experts didn't like

The frying pan heated up incredibly quickly, thus producing a stuck-on, subpar egg that was a bit disappointing, but the heating speed could be better accounted for on later uses.
- allrecipes
The handles are not especially durable. The ceramic coating is prone to scratching.
- Chef's Resource
The enamel does chip easily. Not true ceramic.
- Kitchen Cookware Reviews
The bottom of the pan can get scratched up.
- Mom Dot
Low and medium heat settings are recommended. Not metal utensil safe.

An Overview On Hard Anodized Cookware

When searching for the best cookware set, you’ll want to consider one that is hard anodized. This type of cookware is made from electrochemically hardened aluminum that is non-porous and much more durable than traditional cookware.

As you begin shopping, you’ll want to consider the size of the set you require and the types of pieces that are included. Sets may contain just a few saucepans or as many as 17 pieces. You’ll find hard anodized sets with Dutch ovens, saute pans, frying pans, saucepans, steamers and utensils.

Check whether the set can be used in an oven and, if so, make sure that the maximum allowed temperature meets your needs. Some sets are oven-safe in temperatures of up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, while others are listed as safe in temperatures as high as 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Take a look at the cookware set’s ability to keep foods from sticking to the pan. You want any nonstick coating to be free of PFOA, PFAS, cadmium and lead. Ceramic coatings are derived from sand, and are therefore an excellent choice.

Consider the handles on the hard anodized cookware set. A silicone grip is always a plus, as it not only provides a solid grip, but also stays cool to the touch. Solid stainless steel riveted handles are another option, as they tend to stay cool as well.

Look for a set that includes lids for their saucepans, Dutch ovens and saute pans. You’ll want the lids to be constructed from a clear, break-resistant glass so you can clearly monitor your dish. Some models come with built-in vents, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for that feature.

When you’ve narrowed down your choices to two or three hard anodized cookware sets, determine if there are any extras that make one set stand out above the others. For example, some sets have thermo indicator spots that let you know the moment the pan has fully preheated. Others come in a variety of fun colors, such as turquoise, lavender and yellow.

The Hard Anodized Cookware Buying Guide

  • Always check the product care instructions of your hard anodized cookware set. While a few may be dishwasher safe, most must be washed by hand using hot water, a mild dish soap and a soft dishcloth. The high heat and harsh dishwasher detergents may harm the set’s exterior finish.
  • Consider purchasing a pan rack if storage is an issue. These are designed to be used on a countertop, but many also fit inside a cabinet.
  • Don’t use metal utensils on a nonstick cookware set unless the manufacturer lists this as safe. Metal utensils can scratch the nonstick coating and render it ineffective.
  • You’ll find hard anodized cookware sets come in a wide price range. High-quality construction materials and extra features drive up the cost. You’ll also need to look at how many pieces are in the set, as a 12-piece set is naturally going to cost less than a 17-piece set.
