There is a reason that the name of this brand is Green Toys and that is that they use 100% recycled plastic in all of their toys! This entire toy tool set is made of recycled plastic. That means you can rest assured knowing that these toys are beneficial to the environment. It just so happens that it also makes for some really nice and durable toy tools that will last a very long time!

Super-cute set comes with purple tools including a hammer and both types of screwdrivers, as well as green tools that include a saw, a wrench, and pliers. There are also some nuts, bolts, and screws included that are large enough to be safe for your child to play with. And best of all, it all fits into a pink and green toolbox that your little one can carry around anywhere!

I personally love that this toolset isn't wooden. While I'm generally a huge fan of Melissa and Doug products, their Take-Along Tool Set had me a little worried. My son is pretty strong, and since I wasn't sure where he'd be hammering, I didn't want any "accidental" holes in our walls.
- Our Community Now
What I really loved about this tool set first off, was that it’s made of recycled plastic, and environmentally friendly materials. Second, that it’s made in the good ole’ USA! Not only that, but this a nice, fun, safe toy that any little girl can enjoy, and have tons of fun for hours! I know my rugrat does! It has a nice variety of tools to use. These tools aren’t made out of cheap plastic either.

What experts didn't like
Nails don’t hammer all the way into the holes in the tool box.
- Baby Advisor
The nuts, bolts, and nails are designed to be used on the side of the toolbox, which can be challenging for little ones to figure out. There are a lot of smaller pieces that may be hard to keep track of.

An Overview On Play Toolsets For Kids

If you’ve got a curious and innovative toddler or preschooler who is interested in imitating you at every step, consider getting them a play toolset. A play toolset is a fun and creative toy that resembles a real toolset you may have, but is made out of kid-safe materials without any sharp edges.

Play toolsets for kids often include things like hammers, nails, screwdrivers, saws and drills, and they often come with a carrying case or toolbelt. The toolset is an ideal toy for kids who like to “help” around the house and “fix” anything that needs repair.

There are many benefits to having a play toolset for kids. Toolsets are a great way to encourage imaginative play. Kids can pretend they are working alongside their parents and building or fixing their toys.

Plus, because play toolsets are made out of durable plastic, they are safe for kids to use. While kids might want to try your tools, those can be heavy and have sharp edges that are unsafe for children. This is an alternative that lets them feel like they have the same gadgets as their mom or dad.

Pretend tools offer a gateway to learning about real tools and their uses around the home. Using a play toolset for kids, you can show them what a hammer does and how a screwdriver works, for example. This is a good way to build up your child’s vocabulary as well, and introduce new concepts.

DWYM Fun Fact

There are lots of different ways your child can use a play toolset. One of the most common ways is for your child to use it alongside their parents. If you’re doing some chores around the house, encourage your child to grab their toolset and hammer next to you.

You can also encourage playing with other materials with the toolset, such as play-dough. This provides a new sensory experience.

Using a play toolset out in the yard is also fun, as kids will enjoy hammering rocks, pavement and trees with their toy hammer. They can pretend to saw trees or screw grass into the dirt.

The Play Toolset For Kids Buying Guide

  • When you’re looking for the right toolset for your child, check to see which pieces are included and whether they align with your kiddo’s interests. Many toolsets have drills, nails, screws, hammers, screwdrivers and saws. Some also come with safety goggles and gloves, plus tape measures and note pads. You can also find sets with wrenches, bolts and pieces of “wood.”
  • Having a storage solution is key when you buy a play toolset for kid because the toolsets come with so many pieces. Look for one that has a toolbox or toolbelt where you can keep all of the accessories when they are not in use. Some come with a workshop-style stand that provides more storage room, but also takes up more space in your playroom.
  • In some play toolsets for kids, there are items that require batteries, like drills. If so, check to see whether batteries are included and how many are needed. Battery-operated toys often make fun noises and have blinking lights which add to your child’s imaginative play experience.
