What experts liked
Multiple great tasting flavor options that work well in various recipes. Deliver 25 grams of protein per serving, and it has extremely low levels of sugar, carbs, and fat. Pure whey protein isolate, so it's easy to digest. Includes 5.5 grams of BCAAs that aid in quick recovery from tough workouts.
- BestReviews
ISO 100 is a hydrolyzed whey, which means that whey isolate — the lowest fat, lowest calorie form of whey — has been run through enzymes that break it down into a form closer to its base amino acids. That means it digests more quickly than your standard isolate, and while a lot of people emphasize that as important for post-workout, I think it might be even more useful if you’re the type to consume whey before or during a workout. The science does indeed suggest Iso-100 may be extra effective for recovery, plus it’s very reasonably priced and tastes fantastic.

I really like Dymatize ISO100 Protein Powder and gave it 4 out of 5 stars. The company goes the extra mile and makes a very high quality protein powder. It uses 100% hydrolyzed whey protein isolate, which is super fast digesting. It’s also ultra filtered, so you’re left with purer protein that has the extra fat, lactose, cholesterol, and carbohydrates removed.
- Protein Guide
It is low in calories making it easy to add to a calorie restricted diet. Additonally, they offer a large variety of flavors and most of them are well-liked among consumers. The sugar content is exceptionally low as is the fat and carb content in this powerful protein supplement. You won't have any trouble mixing this product.
- Fighting Report
With this amount of BCAA per dose, Dymatize ISO 100 protein has 18% BCAA content, which is excellent. The vast majority do not come close to this number. Also, Dymatize ISO 100 goes through 5 controlled steps to purify and increase protein value. It removes all fat and lactose, leaving the whey protein with better digestion, being better assimilated by the body and with higher bioavailability.

If you’re looking for an effective protein that’s rapidly absorbed, look no further, ISO100 is a great choice! The products’ primary ingredient is hydrolyzed whey, which is the most rapidly digested form of protein you can get. It does also contain whey isolate but as the second listed ingredient. This means this products’ hydrolyzed whey component makes up at least 51% of the protein component of the product. This makes for an extremely effective whey protein powder.
- Protein Powder
I love this protein, its one of my favorites to date, in addition to the chocolate peanut butter flavor, which I am craving right now because the empty tub is sitting next to me for this review. For years, I have been very frugal with my whey protein, always looking at the deals and just buying whats on sales, not what I truly enjoy. I think this product may have changed me.
- Supplement Reviews
A fantastic protein powder that utilizes the highly refined form of protein known as Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate. This pre-digested form of protein clears your gut within a short period of you consuming it and offers essentially the fastest rate of digestion of any protein except for maybe free form amino acids. Easily one of, if not the best protein powders on the market in terms of purity, ease of digestion, taste, and texture.
- Top 10 Supps
As a low-calorie protein powder, it’s perfect for dieting, or if you need a quick and easy way to increase the protein in your diet, with minimal fat and carbs. Dymatize only uses whey protein isolate and hydrolyzed isolate, with no whey protein concentrate. It speeds digestion, but is still expensive for a whey isolate powder.

Bang for your buck. That’s what you’re getting if you decide to purchase the ISO 100 Whey Protein Powder Isolate from Dymatize. We’re not even necessarily talking about pricing here. Although, for a 5-pound container, this Dymatize offering is fairly priced. What we’re really focusing on though is the amount of protein you’re getting in each serving. Obviously, you’re using these supplements because you want to significantly hike up your protein intake.
- Official Top 5 Review
Some of things that are notable about this whey protein powder is that it offers zero carbohydrates with each scoop. This is ideal for those who need to — or want to — watch their carbohydrate intake. You also get 25 grams of high-quality, assimilable protein. One particular notable point is that thensf-cert-for-sportwhey protein is hydrolyzed, which means pre-digested for optimum assimilation.
- Supplement Review Pal
ISO 100 contains 25g of whey protein isolate per 30g scoop. This gives it a very solid percentage of 83.3%. Whey protein isolate goes through more processing steps than whey protein concentrate to produce a higher percentage of protein content by weight, at 90% or more. It sacrifices more fat and carbohydrates than whey concentrate to reach 90%. Isolate is considered more suitable for those of you aiming to build lean muscle without adding body fat for this reason.
- Elite Body Lifestyle Guides
What experts didn't like
Pricier per ounce of powder than some other options.
- BestReviews
It is a tiny bit salty, with 160 milligrams of sodium or 7 percent of the recommended daily intake. Contains soy. Contains artificial sweeteners. A little pricy.
- Bar Bend
It does contain milk and soy, so be aware if you’re allergic or sensitive.
- Protein Guide
Pricey. Some flavors are overly sweet.
- Fighting Report
We have concerns about the supplement because there’s no solid science to support weight-loss claims. Additionally, we have reservations about it because of the potential negative side effects and poor taste.
- dietspotlight
There is nothing much added to provide any additional benefit. Contains soy.
- Protein Powder
It is very sweet, I did not really like the flavor as I personally prefer richer chocolate flavors that are less sweet.
- Supplement Reviews
The only precaution that needs to be taken if you are particularly concerned is to start by taking a half serving for a day or two to test your tolerance and ability to digest the proteins.
- Top 10 Supps
As tends to be the case with protein powders, there are some reviews that gave a lower rating because the customer didn’t like the taste.

An Overview On Whey Protein Isolate Powders

Eating enough protein during the day can be tough for those who are looking to supplement their weightlifting or exercise regimens to ensure their muscles are able to have the fuel they need for growth and recovery. Whey protein isolate powders are made to fill this need, as they are designed to be a high dose of protein with relatively low calories so they can be added to a normal diet easily as a way to boost protein macros during the day.

Whey protein isolate is one of three types of whey that can be produced from the byproduct of making cheese. The other two types of whey are whey concentrate and whey hydrolysate. The primary difference is that whey protein isolate is the purest form of protein from the selection and therefore can be produced to have very little calories, fat and carbohydrates, with some even being lactose or cholesterol-free.

Whey protein isolate powder comes in many flavors and varying levels of carbohydrates and micronutrients, which can make your search for the right one a tedious and, at times, a daunting exercise that will have your head spinning with all the information provided to you.

The first thing you should do in this search for protein is set a defined goal for what it is you want to achieve by adding this protein supplement to your diet. If you’re beginning your journey towards exercising and increasing your muscle tone or definition, you should have an idea already established for how many calories you need to eat in a day and how much protein you need to satisfy your lean muscle mass, which is roughly your body weight minus the weight of fat.

There are calculators online that can figure this information out for you. Find one that lets you input your body weight, age, height and the level of activity you have in your daily life. The output of these calculators will give you a great idea of what your lean body mass is and how much protein you need to consume every day to maintain that. Similarly, it will tell you how many calories your body burns during the day, which is the number of calories you would eat in order to maintain your current body weight.

Armed with this information, we go back to our search for protein powders that work well for us. There are whey protein isolates that have no net carbohydrates, which can be ideal for those attempting a ketogenic diet or even just a lower-carb diet. Some whey protein isolates are even packed with vitamins and micronutrients or electrolytes like magnesium and potassium, which can be tough to fit into some of our diets naturally.

Keep an eye on the serving size when you are reading the nutrition facts on any of these packages. It is a heavily debated topic in nutritional science, but it is widely agreed upon that our bodies can only process a certain amount of protein at one time and the rest will be passed through our system as waste. What to take from this is that you can’t just drink your entire daily limit of protein in one sitting as a means of getting it out of the way.

Rather, you will want to keep your single-serving sizes of protein in the range of 25-50 grams of protein so that your body can properly process it and use it. If you are on the smaller size, mass-wise, you might just want one scoop of protein even if the serving size is recommended as two-scoops. This saves you money in the big picture, but also helps you pace your protein ingestion in a smart way.

Some whey protein isolates can wreak havoc on some people’s digestive systems. It’s hard to know which brand will work well with your tummy, so it is a good idea to try a few different brands and flavors until you find the one that works harmoniously with your body.

On that note, keep an eye out for what flavor offerings each brand of whey protein isolate powder has. There are chocolate powders, strawberry or banana, even more basic ones like vanilla or unflavored entirely. These can be mixed with water for simplicity, in which you will mainly get the exact flavor of the powder and not much more. Using protein powder as an ingredient in a smoothie is a really common way to consume it and you can find tons of recipes and information online that will aim you towards a really tasty protein shake.

Once you have defined your protein intake and how many calories you want to eat to achieve your goals, the rest is simply building your diet around these two criteria. If you’re lifting weights as a means of getting more toned while also losing fat, you might be better off with a low-calorie protein powder that will help you stay in the caloric deficit that you will need to lose weight.

DWYM Fun Fact

The protein supplement industry is bigger than even the beefiest body-builder at your local gym. 2019 sales indicate that the whey protein industry sold over $17 billion in protein products. This indicates that a lot of people and companies really believe in the effectiveness of whey protein as a dietary supplement.

The Whey Protein Isolate Powder Buying Guide

  • Protein powder mixed with plain water isn’t for everyone. Don’t be afraid to mix it with things like cream or almond milk to really enhance the experience you have when drinking it.
  • Use your whey protein isolate to make protein-bombs that can be stored in the refrigerator for convenient and healthy snacking.
  • If you use a shaker-bottle to drink protein powders, clean it every time you use it. Protein residue will start stinking quite noticeably when left in a seal-off bottle for a week.
  • Don’t give up on whey protein isolates if they don’t taste good to or if they upset your stomach. Try a new brand instead and read reviews where people specifically talk about whether the new brand is good on their stomachs or not. Many times there is a whey isolate protein powder that will work well for you, you just need to find it.
