What reviewers liked
Big, precision-ground cast iron table offers a solid platform for accurate cutting.
The design is probably one of the main selling points of this machine. Its sturdiness and stability ensure smooth operation and precise cuts at all times. On top of that, the steel base is well-made and isn’t as wobbly as one would expect.
You will enjoy unconstrained support while working on the table of the band saw. This is made possible by the Aluminum trunnion table support. It is strong enough to allow for frequent and repeated applications over time. It is also durable enough.
Impressive runout adjustments.
The Delta 28-400 also collects any dust or debris very efficiently. You won’t have to worry about massive amounts of dust cluttering the work space.
What really matters though is the way that a bandsaw cuts and this gives you plenty of power thanks to its 14inch saw and its 1HP motor. That’s enough to cut through thick wood with ease, as well as non-ferrous metals.
But I want to specially say about the wheel of the Delta 28-400 14 in. Band Saw. This model has the durable aluminum, rubber-coated upper and lower 9 spoke wheels which are precision balanced for superior blade tracking and competitive cutting as well.
People do love the oversized table on this one.
Can cut, rip and saw units up to 6 inch in terms of height and 13-14 inch in terms of width
Lastly, there is a dust brush on lower blades to keep the blades clean. Another thing I like is that it’s a very easy to use bandsaw.
What reviewers didn't like
No rip fence, miter guide and work light
The absence of both fence and miter gauge is an unpleasant surprise; there is no question about that.
Less powerful motor
Changing speeds takes more time, anyway, not all woodworkers this feature.
This model will also not accept a height riser like the previous models. You are not able to make the depth of the re-saw higher.
In terms of the build quality though, the blade does rattle a little which is slightly disappointing when everything else is so strong and durable feeling. Likewise, it’s a bit of a shame that it doesn’t come with a fence.
This new cheapened Chinese saw does not have those convenient tool-less adjustments on EITHER blade-guide.
However, there is a massive downside to this unit. Well, not that big, but big enough. There are no accessories included with it. Not even a miter gauge.
You might have to replace the tire after using this saw for a few years (if you really use it a lot)
My biggest disappointment was the lack of a fence and miter tool. I had to buy and install my own.
