Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

Looking impressive on the kitchen counter is as good as any other reason to consider this twin function coffee maker and hot water dispenser.
Fairly convenient to use, based on our judgments of setup, operation, and cleanup.
As an added bonus, a hot water dispenser allows you to enjoy tea, instant oatmeal, or hot cocoa any time you like.
This is a great machine to use for home or office. It comes with a separate hot water provider that can be used for tea, oatmeal or instant soups, very convenient. The machine is fully programmable and equipped with pause-pour functionality.
More importantly, it makes delicious and hot coffee. It manages to keep the coffee tasting as good as if it were always freshly brewed even after you have left it to itself for a long time
You know that the water is already hot as the indicator lights notify you- this is just an excellent device to use. The water is quickly dispensable by a press of a lever

What reviewers didn't like

Namely, the issue of the limited warranty. This basically means that you have to pay to send this machine back to Cuisinart.
In a challenging test of coffee makers, we also brewed a full pot using a filter filled nearly to the top, as some consumers might. In this test, this model sometimes overflowed.
It's a bit tricky to access the filter basket and water tank when the lid is fully opened.
Not water system not up to mark.
The carafe, for some reason, appears to be poorly made in this CHW-12 model.
The filter of this Cuisinart coffee maker stains with time.
