Coffee Gator Pour Over Coffee Maker

Last updated: July 26, 2021

Laser-cut steel keeps coffee grounds out of your cup in this pour over maker. However, that means you'll lose some of the oils that other pour over coffee makers preserve. This carafe is designed to accommodate households that only need to make one or two cups of coffee at a time. You'll also get a rubber handle that keeps your hand safe from the hot glass, which we found to be incredibly handy during our testing.

We looked at the top Pour Over Makers and dug through the reviews from some of the most popular review sites. Through this analysis, we've determined the best Pour Over Maker you should buy.

Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

Makes good-tasting coffee for a reasonable price. No need to use your own filters since it's outfitted with a reusable one of its own. It's also easy to clean.
On the plus side, Gator is quite easy to clean and put together, especially because of the thermometer that allows you to do other things around the kitchen while you wait for the coffee.
Nonetheless, it’s a highly effective brewer. The cone filter is a permanent addition, a laser-cut, surgical-grade stainless-steel micro-mesh filter (you can always pop in a paper filter as well if you’d prefer) with little rubber handle so you don’t burn yourself when removing it. There’s no silt in your coffee either way.
Another sterling example of a paperless brewing system, the Coffee Gator is a combined carafe and filter at a competitive price point that will set off any minimalist kitchen a treat.
If you’re new to the pour-over method, you’ll get a handy recipe book thrown in to get those creative juices flowing. It’s also a beginner-friendly coffee maker so you don’t need to be a barista to get the most from the Coffee Gator.

Unlike other coffee makers, the Coffee Gator best hand drip coffeemaker comes with a laser cut steel filter that you can use again and again, and it is able to retain the delicious flavors and oils that gives every coffee a delightful taste.
It is best suited for people who don’t mind one cup per brewing.
The washable and reusable stainless steel filter that it comes with is able to retain the oils and the natural flavor of the grounds perfectly.

I loved the design mainly, and the design is also standard which easily match all decors.
The whole process is extremely simple and takes no time at all to actually get a great blended coffee.
I really like the kettle, especially the built-in temp gauge in the lid. The precise spout was also such an improvement over the makeshift pitchers I had been using, that this will definitely become my go-to for anything pourover.
The company wants you satisfied so it has added a money back warranty to this product. No hassles with their warranty either.
The filter used is metallic, made from dual layer of micro-mesh, laser cut steel. It is pretty well constructed, though obviously don’t expect the glass carafe to survive falls.
You will be pleased to know that the filter is very easy to clean and it’s unlikely to clog. This is something not many models can boast with. As well as, it’s impossible for coffee sediments to pass through.
The coffee maker is also one of the easiest to use on our list, and even beginners should have an easy time when making coffee on the go.
The stainless steel filter is one of the best things about this brewer. There are none of the unwanted flavors you can get with paper versions. You won’t have to buy replacements. And its kind to the environment.

What reviewers didn't like

Very fragile glass construction that loses heat rapidly. Small size isn't suitable for serving larger groups.
The main drawbacks are the fact the glass carafe could break if you drop it and you need to pre-warm the water if you want a really hot cup of coffee in the morning (and I know I do).
This is very important as the exposed stainless-steel mesh has no heat retaining properties whatsoever. One solution is to increase the water temperature, but that scorches your coffee
Not cut out for batch brewing as this dripper makes just 1 or 2 cups
Only one cup can be brewed in one go
You may get some trouble with cleaning the filter. The coffee ground takes more time for drying, and so this could make it hard for you with the cleaning purpose.
While it makes a great cup of hot coffee, this pour over pot is not good for cold coffee brews.
It can’t handle a large amount of coffee
Although the glass carafe can be quite delicate, this should not stop you from carrying your pour over coffee maker when traveling as a little extra precaution and care is all you need.
It’s pour-over – so it will take a bit of time to brew
