What reviewers liked

Given the updates, the autofocus is likely faster, especially for Live View.

The 5D Mark IV also inherits Canon's Dual Pixel AF technology, meaning there are phase-detection points on the imaging sensor itself, promising quicker AF acquisition than we saw in the 5D Mark III, and performance as speedy as in a lot of mirrorless cameras.
It’s a good all-around lens that covers a nice range, from wide-angle to short telephoto.
A wide array of professional-grade features. Exceptional image quality.
It is built around a new 30.4MP CMOS sensor and uses the Digic 6+ processor. The AF system is from the flagship 1D X Mark II and contains 61 AF points (41 of which are cross-type) with up to 24% expanded vertical coverage compared with the system in the Mark III. The center point is sensitive to -3EV in One Shot (AF-S) mode (in Live View the sensor is sensitive to -4EV with a fast lens).
Since there's no interframe compression, image quality in 4K mode is good.
The biggest boost in usability actually comes as a result of making the screen touch-sensitive.
30MP full-frame image sensor.
With its 30.4MP sensor capable of yielding superb image quality (even at high ISO), an advanced 61-point AF system, 7 fps continuous shooting speed, 4K video recording, built-in WiFi / GPS and superb Dual Pixel AF when using Live View, the Canon 5D Mark IV is a formidable tool for enthusiast and professional photographers.
This model adds 4K Cinematic Video recording capability (24,25,& 30 fps). You can extract 8.8 megapixel screen grabs from each frame of video.
Takes very good photos. Photos generally were very sharp. Images taken in low light (no flash) were sharp. Has full frame sensor. Photos displayed almost no visual noise, even in low light. Video quality is excellent, better than most models. Very fast start-up time, much better than most models. Very good and quick at being ready for next shot, better than many models. LCD has excellent quality. It includes two slots for using two memory cards. Captures excellent audio when recording video. Secure feeling on the ergonomic grip with rubber inlays.
Excellent battery life, top-notch manual controls, and a weatherproof body make this camera one of Canon's most capable offerings available today. To make the most of its capabilities, it's essential that you invest in high-quality lenses.
Full-frame sensor. Dual Pixel AF is a game changer for video. Superior high ISO capability. Touchscreen is useful. Wi Fi.
30MP full-frame image sensor. Fast 61-point autofocus system. 7fps continuous shooting. Unlimited JPG shooting buffer. Pro-grade build. Dual Pixel AF Live View focus system. 3.2-inch touch screen. Integrated GPS and Wi-Fi. CF and SD card slots.
The EOS 5D MkIV is one of the most capable options on the market for shooters who prefer to use this type of body design when shooting videos, as it records in 4K, and its 61-point autofocus can keep your movies sharp with minimal effort.
This camera has a nice 61-point autofocus due to which the photos are always accurate and fine. In fact, that’s one of the best results you can find nowadays as other cameras have no more than 51-point autofocus. As to the shooting speed, it reaches up to 7 fps.

What reviewers didn't like

The biggest disappointment to me is the unchanged ISO sensitivity range; a high maximum usually means important improvements in noise reduction in the middle of the range.

Expensive compared to rivals.
It can’t output 4K over HDMI, so monitoring and external recording are limited to 1080p. Worse, shooting in 4K incurs a significant crop of 1.64x.
No built-in flash. Complex operation may be difficult for amateurs to navigate. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
iTR subject tracking lacks precision and reliability compared to some peers.
JPEG files look soft at default settings; 1/200s flash sync
Frame rate isn’t particularly high
Dual Pixel Raw function slows camera and offers limited benefits.
Lacks an image stabilizer. Its kit lens has a fixed focal length with no zoom capability. Has no wide-angle capability with the kit lens. Heavier than the typical SLR. Camera may be slightly too heavy for some users. Heavier than average in its class. Lacks built-in flash.
ITR subject tracking lacks precision and reliability compared to some peers. Optimization of AF settings takes practice. HDMI-out limited to 1080p.
Cropped 4K video. Clean HDMI output is 1080p only. Dual Pixel Raw function slows camera and offers limited benefits. 4K video files are quite large. Omits in-body flash.
It has a clear button panel and has such additional functions as GPS and Wi-Fi. Still, bear in mind that this Canon camera is pricey and costs about $3,500.
