What reviewers liked

In terms of burner performance, you'll be hard-pressed to find more quality output for your dollar than the Camp Chef Explorer. 60,000 total BTUs from the two burners are a great pairing for large-group camp cookouts or even emergency use at home. The stove sets up quickly, and its sturdy legs are individually adjustable to adapt to uneven ground.
This is a very easy product to use with its 3-sided windbreak for a consistent heat level, an easy ignition system as well as easy to use knobs to dictate your heat level.
A reviewer who bought the stove as a gift for his wife writes, “I got this because I wanted something that would last and has enough room to use big pots and skillets (large family). When I got this, she thought I went overboard. She used it once and fell in love with it. It is well built and seems like it will last a long time.”
Looking for the best camping stove that’s not just a stove, but an entire camp kitchen? WIth the Camp Chef line, you can actually combine more than one component to create an awesome cooking setup tailored to you! Yeah, it’s true, this stove is pretty nice. I love the all-steel construction with removable legs. That means you can cook on or off of the table. If you’re wondering, it’s 34” tall when free-standing (which is a great height in my opinion).
While you wouldn’t fancy carrying the Camp Chef Explorer any kind of distance (it weighs a meaty 36lbs!), this reasonably-priced, powerful, freestanding beast of a double-burner just might be a contender for the title of Best Car Camping Stove. The Explorer comprises less in the way of wind protection than some freestanding competitors and is very awkward to carry, but if you’re pitching up where you park, have a big trunk and want plenty of power while you cook, it’s a nicely-priced, functional and efficient alternative to the better of the tabletops and, of course, it comes on four legs.
When it comes to versatility, this is one of the best camping stoves you’ll find. This stove is just the baseline as you can mix and match a variety of Blue Flame Camp Chef accessories to complete your outdoor kitchen. A barbecue box, grill griddle, and dutch oven are only some of the choices you can add to this camping stove.
Do you ever worry about setting your food on simmer and having the wind blow it out? If you don't want to make multiple trips back and forth to your food checking the flames, the dependable Camp Chef Explorer 2 Burner camping stove is one that you will want to use each and every time you cook outdoors.
The Camp Chef Explorer is a free-standing gas stove with a professional, high-quality feel. With two powerful burners, it’s great for quickly cooking up large meals. However, with fully adjustable heat, it’s equally well at simmering and cooking long and slow if needed. From burgers and steaks to pancakes and eggs, it can do it all. It also has a grate for oversized pans, small pots, and everything in between.
Although the Camp Chef Explorer is too large and heavy for backpacking journeys, the modular design supports a variety of optional accessories that can meet the cooking demands of a large group, making it a good choice for both family camping trips and tailgating parties.
This is a big, solid stove that weighs in at over 40 pounds, but for a good-sized base camp the extra capability will make a huge difference. It’s an excellent value for the price.
One of the advantages this product comes with is the sturdy construction, as well as the foldable legs it features for increased stability when cooking outdoors.
Massive power for high volume cooking

We found Camp Chef EX60LW to be the best portable gas stove because of its large capacity.
Thanks to its freestanding design, sturdy construction, and large cooktop, it’s an excellent choice for large groups of campers.
Powerful burners to shorten your cooking process significantly

What reviewers didn't like

In keeping the price down, however, the Explorer is pretty low on features: there is no push button ignition and the burners are less protected than premium offerings.
Awkward to carry. Heavy (36lbs). Not great wind protection.
Not compatible for 16 oz propane canisters.
A little on the heavy side.
This model comes with extension legs that are held together by plastic screws, although it would be much safer if the screws would be made of metal.
Less portable than other units
- Kempoo
Because of its weight, the Explorer 2-Burner is probably overkill unless you have a lot of extra room in your vehicle.
Propane tank isn’t included
