What reviewers liked
Durable stainless steel and comfortable handle.
Using the kettle is intuitive. There is a simple on/off switch and a water indicator level, so you always know how many cups you are boiling.

Its beautiful design and broad lid make it very easy to clean. Its thick base allows you to wrap the cord around the unit. This unit boils quickly in about 4 minutes for a full 1.5 L, making it one of the effective products available, even when compared to super-expensive models.
The Breville SK500XL Ikon is a great and sturdy electric cordless water kettle with a beautiful design and nice features.
What reviewers didn't like
A basic model with few extras.
Lacking of temperature controls.
This Breville doesn’t have cool-touch housing, which can result in the outside of the kettle getting very hot.

Smells metallic if the water is left in the kettle for several hours but this is not an issue if you are boiling fresh water
The kettle had some chemical or oily smell when I unpacked it and this odor didn't disappear right away.
