From The Manufacturer

Every Breville product begins with a simple moment of brilliance. The Breville Smart Oven began with the simple fact that different foods require different methods of heating: some, like baked goods, need to be cooked evenly; others, like meats, need to be seared on top. Most toaster ovens fail to distribute heat in a consistent way throughout their interiors, let alone change heat distribution to suit the different foods being prepared. This is how the Breville Smart Oven stands apart: whatever the food, it adjusts its heat distribution for perfect results. The Smart Oven is equipped with Element IQ cooking technology, which adjusts the power of the five individual quartz heating elements to cook food more evenly and quickly. This sophisticated heating system distributes heat throughout the oven when and where it is needed, to guarantee more efficient cooking. Nine different menu options allow users to choose the best setting for the food they are cooking. In addition to dynamically distributing heat to different areas, the Smart Oven can adjust the wattage of its heating elements for even more cooking flexibility. The Breville Smart Oven comes with 3 acccessories: a pizza pan, baking pan, and broil rack. Baking utilizes another feature of the Smart Oven that contributes to even heating: convection heating. Convection cooking uses a fan to circulate hot air so all sides of the food cook at the same rate. Each of these nine functions is preset with recommended settings, taking the guesswork out of cooking. However, each can be customized according to recipe, volume of food, or personal taste. Customized settings will remain in the memory of the oven until changed or until the oven is unplugged from the wall outlet, streamlining your cooking process.

What reviewers liked

The best on the market. A generous mix of features and top-notch performance makes this unit unbeatable.
We were impressed by its ability to maintain a set temperature better than most of its competition.
Breville's oven performs well and handled nearly every food we tested with ease. I particularly liked its easy-to-use control panel and preset cook functions.
Temperature calibration is near perfect.
During our testing it made the best toast, most delectable cookies, and some of the tastiest bagels we've ever had the privilege of eating.
When comparing to other products, there are two features where this oven truly excels, and that is the magnetic auto-eject rack and temperature and time dial with auto shut-off and sound alert.
With a total of ten-preset cooking functions, this toaster oven gives you options.
This Breville is a baker’s dream with a powerful 1800 watts at its disposal, which means a quicker and better bake with the convection oven setting.
This top-of-the-line offering uses “Element IQ” cooking technology to automatically adjust its heating method, allowing you to properly cook everything from pizza to cookies.
In other words, if you choose one of the nine presets, this convection oven will automagically fire up the top or bottom heating elements to cook your food to perfection.
With its high-end design, excellent performance, uniquely intelligent heating elements, multitude features, large interior, and generous set of quality bakeware, this Breville toaster oven can easily be used in addition to or in place of your traditional oven for meal prep.

What reviewers didn't like

Rare complaints about digital display screen.
However, it is more expensive, lacks an oven light, and doesn’t offer a pizza stone like the Cuisinart.
If you don't need a lot of space, however, it's hard to justify its price when you can purchase the smaller, equally effective Panasonic Flash Xpress for $100 less.
Only one wire cooking rack.
It is a bit on the expensive side, but if you don't mind paying for quality, the Smart Oven certainly will not disappoint.
No defrosting function.
Exterior gets hot when used.
Sadly, such features don’t come cheap.
