Breville is well known for building great coffee grinders. Stainless steel conical burrs and 16 grind settings allow you to fine-tune your grind size and dial in that perfect shot. It doesn’t get any fresher than dropping the beans right from the grinder into the portafilter.

What experts didn't like

The Breville Barista Express requires some effort to operate compared with fancy super-automatic machines.
-
Although Breville has put in a lot of effort on designing and performance, some features like hot water dispenser could have been improved. Moreover, while the machine itself works well, it does require diligent maintenance. A few skipped cleaning sessions can make your grinder loud, although it is easy to get a replacement; it nevertheless remains a weak point.
The Express loses half a point because you’ll inevitably get some coffee grinds in your drip tray that will mix with water to create sludge. But this only happens because the built in coffee grinder exists. It’s inevitable, but not big deal.
