Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

Although it was not the favorite shaver of a majority of our test panel, the Series 7 was the only shaver all our testers agreed worked well, shaving closely and without irritation. Though it is no longer the German shaver giant’s top-of-the-line offering, the Series 7 still offers a just-right combination of upgrades over Braun’s lower-end models and affordability compared with the newer Series 9.
A popular Braun Shaver that combines a streamlined shaving head and automatic power adjusting technology for a comfortable yet close shave at a mid-range price.
The Pulsonic costs more money than a standard shaver, but you’re paying for a well-designed and well-made cordless electric shaver, that should last years with the proper maintenance. The Braun Pulsonic is from their premium shaving line. It offers men the ultimate grooming experience.
If you have your heart set on a Braun, but don’t want to pay the full $325 for the Series 9, the Braun Series 7 7865cc is also worth a look. Its quality and comfort are comparable to our Series 9 top pick, but it’s $100 cheaper.
This razor’s rechargeable lithium ion battery provides up to 50 minutes of shaving time on a one-hour charge, and it has status indicators for its battery life, charging status and hygiene status. You’ll also know when it’s time to replace the shaver’s foils.
Braun’s top-of-the-range Series 7 electric shaver is also one of the best you can buy. This chunky model has a large shave head that has three cutting blades.
Has settings for sensitive, normal and intense shaves
It has a lot of the perks: a cleansing and charging base; it’s a wet/dry shaver for whichever method you prefer; you can adjust its speed (with 5 options); and it lasts just shy of an hour on a full charge.

The Braun 790cc features four synchronized shaving elements that can cut in one stroke what other razors do in two.
The head of Braun 790cc is very flexible and can quickly move around the contours of your face. The shaver comes with an alcohol based Cleaning and Charging Dock., which can kill the 99% of the germs with the help of a single button.
A unique feature of this razor is the ability to select one of the three modes that best suit your skin and technique, from Extra Sensitive to Intense.
Cleaning and Charging dock of the Series 7 790cc is Alcohol based which takes care of the sanitization of your electric shaver eradicating 99% of the germs with just a push of a button.
The trimmer does an excellent job of styling sideburns and mustaches but is not good for much else. It is certainly not a replacement for your regular trimmer. But then, it seems to be the case with all trimmers that comes attached to electric shavers.
This electric razor is capable of determining how thick your facial hair is in order to automatically adjust its power, so you'll be able to get a clean and even shave in just one pass.
The Braun Charge Station Electric Razor is to be noted for the range of operations that covers the full grooming activity of men and women. The power rechargeable battery pack ensures that it is possible to have long operational times between charges.

What reviewers didn't like

Not quite as powerful as its Series 9 cousin, but this doesn't seem to affect the quality of the shave it provides.
The reason it didn’t take top spot can be found in the its general design: It doesn’t feel as good to use. The razor itself offers a smooth shave, but we missed the ergonomic handle and upgrades found in the Series 9. The display for the Series 7, for instance, is inconveniently located on the bottom of the handle, and it show three separate indicator bars that we couldn’t interpret without turning to the user manual.
Priced above $200 (MSRP), it’s the most expensive razor we tested.
High initial cost.
May need to go over the same area more than once to remove all hair
Cons: • Contoured head has minor learning curve. • Very loud cleaning process. • Bulky base unit. •Locking button is fragile. • Cartridge costs for cleaning dock.
- AskMen
The only downside in this electric shaver is that it is missing Wet&Dry Technology.
Dry only operation, not the closest shaving razor in its price range, pricey.
The absence of the Wet & Dry Technology presents the only downside of this model but that lack of feature was compensated by Braun with their Series 7 799cc model which is a little on the expensive side.
One issue we have with the clean & charge station is that the end of the power adapter cord sticks out the back of the dock when plugged in, which makes it impossible to place very close to a wall.
Some customers have reported a slower shave
