Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

This Vacuum features the eco-friendly lithium ion battery and cyclonic action that keeps suction power at a maximum
One especially bright spot with this cordless handheld vacuum cleaner is its rechargeable battery. The vacuum runs for 17 minutes, more than enough time for most small messes, and the battery completely recharges in only six minutes, which puts this handheld vacuum near the top.
There is consistent power throughout the charge cycle and minimal power fade unlike the old NiCad that fades slowly.
The Black & Decker 20V Pivot utilizes a cyclonic suction method. After sucking up dirt and debris, the unit runs everything through a three stage filtration system, then continues to spin the dirt and debris in a cyclonic fashion. This allows for stronger, more consistent suction power.
The handheld vacuum cleaner has a very powerful suction force. It has a powerful motor that produces up to 35 air watts of cyclonic suction. This builds a powerful suction that enables the device to work properly even on bare floors and on carpets.

What reviewers didn't like

The motor is powerful and loud.
One drawback is that the Lithium Pivot is extremely loud. We measured it at 94.4 dB, which is almost the loudest volume of all the hand vacs in our tests.
Can’t clean pet hair on carpet because it doesn’t have a pet hair tool
The biggest issue I have with the 20V Pivot is the difficulty in locating a replacement battery. Additionally, I was not able to find the manufacturer’s estimated run time or battery capacity, both of which are rather annoying.
Due to the noise produced by the handheld vacuum cleaner, it is quite uncomfortable to use. It produces so much noise such that the sleeping children could wake up and it will most certainly disturb the peace of the elderly.
