What experts liked
The Game provides exciting moments on occasion, they’re infrequent and all too brief. In one match, I tried to escape in a car and narrowly swerved out of Jason’s way as he teleported in front of me.

Playing as Jason is an empowering experience that captures the feel of the original films.

Jason is also very fun to play as; especially when you hear the panicked voices of the counselors you're about to kill. And each kill move is very satisfying to watch and perform as well, making both ways to play a match very entertaining and fun.

This is some of the most fun multiplayer I’ve touched in quite a while, and definitely the most fun I’ve ever had with an asymmetric multiplayer title.

It's appropriately difficult to escape.

The level of customisation can also be used when selecting your Jason. You can choose different, classic Jason’s from the franchise as well as being able to upgrade your kill selection. These can be, for example, as simple as a choke kill when you edit your non-weapon choices to something as brutal as the jaw rip! You also have a variety of new weapon kills too, just to keep you entertained no matter what.

What experts didn't like
The Game is also plagued by constant crashes that seemed to happen every four or five matches. This happened consistently between several different people and groups that I played in.

Poor animations and clipping issues lead to frustrating mishaps.

Unfortunately, there is no story at all to speak of in Friday The 13th: The Game.

My only real issue is on the technical side of things. To preface, the PC version is honestly fantastic – the pretty visuals are rendered with the muted hues hallmark to popular 80’s cinema, and the game runs like a dream. Yet I did encounter some interesting bugs. Jason being unable to let go of a counselor he killed or being unable to open a closet where somebody was hiding are just two examples.

Ridiculous server issues.

The Game has the longest load times I have EVER experienced in a video game. I had to wait almost 10 mins every time I selected “quick play” so I could play a standard game, which is just ridiculous in this day and age. Sometimes it didn’t even load at all so I had to quit, which took another good minute, before then trying again!
