What reviewers liked

The quality of this printer is absolutely mind blowing. If you want to print things other than functional parts, you should buy this printer.

There are a few things that make this printer stand out from the rest of the pack. First and foremost, it’s a DLP printer. This means that instead of squirting plastic filament through a hot nozzle to create objects, it shines UV light into a vat full of photoreactive resin to cure each layer. It’s a fundamentally different machine than the Makerbots and Ultimakers of the world.
An incredible printer at an unbelievable price. The model quality is as close as you can get to injection moulding without the huge cost and scale.
A really beautiful, well-designed machine. I love the use of color and the red highlights on the knobs and LCD platform. The main functional parts, the resin vat and print platform, are made out of anodized aluminum. The machine’s cabinet is black metal with clear yellow plastic inserts.
Support generation is one of the easiest things to do with the Anycubic Photon. It’s far above any other 3D printer when it comes to auto-generating the supports you need for difficult projects.
We were pleasantly surprised how well the Anycubic Photon worked, both regarding print quality as well as ease of use. We found this machine an ideal introduction to DLP 3D printing for beginners as well as experienced makers. When we look at the price/quality ratio then this is certainly one of the better choices on the printer market.

What reviewers didn't like

Definitely a learning curve. It took a bit of trial and error to get the settings just right so my first 3 print attempts failed due to insufficient print bed adhesion.

No peel mechanism. Small build area.
Requires cleaning between prints. Resin can be messy. No error checking sensors.
Needs much better instructions and product support. Printing success was sporadic. No way to tell if a print fails early on without pausing it.
Jobs may stick to print bed. Small build volume. Lack of customizations.
Use of sticky resin can make 3D printing messy. Finishing off (rinsing and curing) of the objects requires much patience and additional time. Cleaning of the printer is time consuming.
