What reviewers liked

The advantage of a cable over a nub is that it moves the connected USB-A cable or flash drive away from the computer a bit—about 6 inches in this case. That extra length and flexibility can make it easier to use certain accessories, especially those with fat plugs. This adapter is USB-IF certified, it performed well in our testing, it supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 (which is another way of saying USB 3.0) data transfer, and it’s the least expensive model we tested.
They’ve constructed the cable with Aramid fiber, a special type of heat-resistant synthetic. It’s the sort of thing you see holding together a bike tire, which certainly makes it tough enough to take on the kind of forces it will see during its lifespan.
Beyond data transfer, the AmazonBasics cable supports charging USB-C enabled devices with up to three amps of power output and fast charging for any supported devices. Measuring only 2.56 inches in length, the AmazonBasics cable is a pocket-friendly solution, but can also be easily tucked away in a backpack or purse.
