What reviewers liked
CodeJunkies did a good job cramming the GCN Action Replay with attractive extra features. And ironically these extra features, one big one in particular, really seal the deal with the Action Replay.

Great solution for PAL gamers who want to run NTSC games as well with or without cheats.
You can instantly unlock games that will never see a US release.
What reviewers didn't like
There are a couple of problems with the system, however. Firstly, and this isn't anything new, it's somewhat awkward to use. You must boot up with the Action Replay disc every time you want to use it and every time you want to change games.

It's not as good a solution, however, for NTSC gamers importing PAL games, due to slower game speeds and other problems.
One of the issue is that import titles may run perfectly, but may be displayed a little less so.
