When you think of holidays, odds are you will think of something traditional, like Christmas and Thanksgiving, or perhaps Halloween. Did you know, however, there’s some kind of holiday being celebrated pretty much every day?
Most involve food, like National Coffee Day (Sept. 29 this year), which means one thing — businesses tend to use these momentous holidays to give their food away for free. Talk about the best present ever!
If you like the sound of that, mark your calendars: National Doughnut Day is June 7, and this year, Walmart will be giving out free doughnuts and coffee to celebrate.
First, check to make sure your store is participating by visiting Walmart’s website. If it is, just head there on June 7 from 12:30-6:30 p.m. for samples of doughnuts and Seattle’s Best coffee.
Some stores may be celebrating on June 6 instead. The date you can get your free doughnut and coffee will be listed next to the location.
If your local Walmart is not participating, have no fear! Doughnut shops around the country are also handing out free doughnuts on June 7.
If you have a Dunkin’ Donuts near you, you can get a free doughnut with the purchase of a drink. This deal is good for any doughnut, so go ahead and treat yourself to your favorite.
Even better, Krispy Kreme will be giving out one doughnut per customer for National Doughnut Day — no purchase necessary. Plus, if they reach their goal of handing out 1 million doughnuts, they’ll have another giveaway later this month!
If you’re not a doughnut fan, June 7 also happens to be National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, so you could go that route instead. I wasn’t able to find any chocolate ice cream giveaways, sadly, but you could obviously celebrate with a pint of your favorite brand from the store or a cone at your favorite local ice cream shop.
