Lobster Lovers Can Win Their Dream Trip To Maine—Here’s How

Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative

If you love to dine on lobster, there’s no better place to go on vacation than Maine. The state is known for its fresh seafood.

What even the biggest lobster lovers may not know, however, is that there is a peak harvesting season for Maine lobster, which results in what the Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative calls Maine’s “favorite lobster” or the “new shell lobster.” This lobster is the result of their molting their hard exterior shell to make way for a new, softer shell, which is said to make them more sweet and succulent.

If you’d like to book yourself a trip to Maine during peak lobster season and try some Maine new shell lobster for yourself, the MLMC has launched the first-ever waitlist so you know when to hit the road. Even better, just by adding your name to the list, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a lobster-filled weekend in Maine and deliveries of lobster right to your house all season long!

Now through June 21, each waitlist subscriber will be entered to win a weekend for two to Portland, Maine, where they’ll learn how to haul traps and taste fresh-caught Maine new shell lobster. The winner will also receive on-demand deliveries of fresh new shell lobster, shipped from Maine and straight to your doorstep all summer and fall!

The prize package includes two round-trip flights to Portland, two nights at a hotel, two spots on a lobstering excursion, lunch with lobster caught aboard the excursion, a $100 gift card for dinner and up to $2,000 worth of lobster.

To sign up for the waitlist in order to be notified when peak season arrives and to be entered into the sweepstakes, just head to MLMC’s website.

If you happen to win the trip and the lobster deliveries, you’re in luck, and not only because lobster is delicious and a trip like this sounds like tons of fun. According to Livestrong, lobsters are a good source of vitamin B-12, zinc, copper, selenium and phosphorus. Plus, a 3-ounce serving of lobster is only about 76 calories and has 16.2 grams of protein and only 0.7 grams of fat.
