If you’re a voracious reader (or if you’ve got a little one who’s learning), a Kindle is a super useful device.

We stumbled across a pretty amazing deal if you’re in the market for a new one. Amazon will let you trade in your old Kindle and get an Amazon gift card of up to $35 in return, plus another $20 toward the purchase of a new Kindle.

The gift card you get for your trade in depends largely on the model and quality of Kindle you send Amazon. If you’ve got a like-new Kindle Paperwhite(no screen cracks) with a built-in light and wifi, Amazon says you’re eligible for a $35 gift card, for example.

Amazon will let you see how much you’ll get, before you send them your old Kindle. If you decide to trade in your old device, you can ship it to Amazon for free and they’ll automatically apply the gift card amount and the $20 bonus to your account. Pretty cool, huh?

If you don’t have a Kindle to trade in, Amazon is also having a sale this week on Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Fire HD. You can save $20 to $25 on those devices, so if you’ve been waiting to snag one on sale, now’s your chance.
