Next to Christmas, summer vacation is every kid’s favorite time of year. But as much as they look forward to it all school year, chances are they soon find themselves feeling pretty bored.

So, now is a great time to think ahead and plan some fun activities to keep your children entertained until school starts back up. Luckily, there are two programs that allow kids to bowl and skate for free all summer long at locations around the country.

You’ll find the annual Kids Bowl Free Program at more than 1,500 bowling centers across the country. Kids ages 15 and under can get coupons for two free games of bowling every day during the summer. All you have to do is head to the Kids Bowl Free program’s website, find a bowling center near you and register your child.

Bowlers will have to wear bowling shoes, which are available for rent if you don’t own a pair, but that’s the only expense. The deal is valued at more than $500 per child.

If you’d like to bowl with your child, you can also purchase a family pass that allows up to four adults to bowl two games alongside the child bowlers throughout the summer during Kids Bowl Free hours. The price of the family pass may vary by location, but it typically costs around $29.95 and is good for the entire length of the Kids Bowl Free program. You can save 10 percent on the pass right now with code WELCOME10.

If your child prefers skating instead of bowling, there is also a Kids Skate Free program that will allow them to enjoy some rollerskating for free this summer instead of troubleshooting PCs. Rules and ages vary by center, so be sure to check your location. There is a $4 administrative setup fee per child.

Will you be signing your child up for free bowling or skating this summer?
