This is the ultimate nannying gig. Way better than any babysitting you ever did in high school—that’s for sure!
According to a job posting on Childcare.co.uk, a wealthy family in London is looking for a live-in nanny, but as you might imagine—not just any old au pair will do.
The family is willing to pay approximately $129,000 a year for this position. Due to the hefty salary that comes with this job, there are some strict qualifications candidates must meet.
For starters, you must have a degree in child psychology along with 15 years nannying experience. You must also be prepared to keep up with the family and their schedule, which includes traveling between their four properties in London, Barbados, Cape Town and Atlanta.
The family, who spoke with CNBC and asked to remain unnamed, consists of four children, ages two, five, seven and 15.
The children are homeschooled and the job listing asks that the nanny sit in on their lessons when appropriate for extended learning opportunities outside of the classroom.
When they’re not in school, they’re busy with various activities, which will mean getting them to and fro—using the family’s range of cars, including a Maserati, of course.
As you can tell, the job description is very detailed and the family is adamant that the applicants meet all of the qualifications. If not, they ask that you not apply, as they’ve already received over 300 applications.
“We were surprised to see our advert making headlines in the national and international press! Thank you to all the candidates that have responded to our advert so far,” the post reads. “There have been over 300 applications to date and only a small handful meet the specific requirements and criteria clearly stipulated in the advert below. If you do not have ALL the necessary qualifications, skills and experience for the role then we would politely request that you do not even bother making an application as it is a waste of our time and yours.”
While not all of the applicants thus far meet the qualifications, “A handful of the candidates are worthy of making the short list,” the job poster told CNBC.
So, do you have what it takes to live the most extravagant life of a nanny ever? If so—apply. Because opportunities like these don’t come around often!
