A quality, well-fitted suit is arguably the best looking piece of clothing to ever exist but, let’s face it — they’re not cheap. A definite splurge item, but one that is needed if you attend a lot of formal events, a “basic suit” can cost anywhere from $300-$599.
In an effort to help your wallet and millions of people who can’t afford dress clothes at all, Men’s Wearhouse is holding its 12th annual Suit Drive that will give you a discount and give free clothing to those in need.
Here’s how it works: July 1-31, just bring in gently used professional attire you no longer want to a participating location and you’ll receive 50% off a new suit. The items you donated will be given to nonprofit organizations, then to men and women who need interview and business clothing.
The 50% off coupon applies to regular-priced items at Men’s Wearhouse and does not include shoes, clearance and exceptional value items. Items you can donate include suits, sport coats, dress shirts, jackets, outwear, accessories, ties, sweaters, vests, dress shoes, casual pants and women’s professional attire.
More than 700 Men’s Wearhouse locations across the country are participating in an effort to help more than 150 local non-profit organizations assist unemployed people who are trying to get back into the workforce through job readiness programs and workforce assistance.
The suit drive has collected more than 2 million items of clothing over the past 11 years. Last year alone saw 378,000 items give confidence to men and women in need. Their goal this year is 396,900.
To help them reach their goal, Men’s Wearhouse is asking everyone to share an old photo showcasing past outfits, then donate them and use hashtag #ThrowbackAndDonate to help spread the word.
Do you have any dress clothes you no longer want (or that no longer fit)? Just go to Men’s Wearhouse’s website to find a store near you and donate for your 50% off coupon.
