Are you and your family dealing with the winter blahs? If you’re a parent, you’ve probably heard “I’m bored” more times in the past few months than you thought you could stand. Fortunately, the folks at Home Depot have a fun (and free) fix to beat the boredom blues!
The Home Depot Kids Workshop is a nationwide opportunity for kids to learn some new skills and build some awesome projects at stores across the country. Home Depot locations around the U.S. host the workshops on the first Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon. The project changes each month, so there’s always something new to build.
The project for next month’s Home Depot Kids Workshop is “Building a Periscope,” from 9 a.m. to noon on March 3.
The workshop gives step-by-step instructions on how to build the periscope from wood that will be provided to each child. Then, once the project is built, the kids have a chance to design and decorate their periscopes. Home Depot will provide the paint and stickers so each child can make their project look absolutely gorgeous.
In addition to the completed project, every participant receives a free certificate of achievement, a workshop apron and a commemorative pin.
Remember, these monthly workshops are absolutely free! However, registration is required.
To sign up for the March workshop, visit Home Depot’s workshop website, select your nearest store location and enter your child’s information. It’s as easy as that. And, all kids enrolled in the Home Depot Kids Workshop must have a parent or adult present throughout the session.
If you’re looking for a grown-up version of these workshops, Home Depot also has you covered there. Here’s a rundown on the adult workshops Home Depot stores are offering in March:
- Installing a vanity: Looking to add some style to your bathroom? Learn how to install a vanity in your own home.
- Build a bookshelf planter: Billed as a do-it-herself workshop, a Home Depot associate will walk class members through the process of cutting, staining, framing and assembling the piece.
- Installing a ceiling fan: Have a ceiling fan still sitting in the box because you’re not sure how to install it? Come to this workshop and get instruction on how to finally get your fan put up properly.
