Healthcare workers can get a free pair of Crocs

Crocs

If you’re in the healthcare industry or a first responder, there’s no doubt you’re feeling the strain of the coronavirus pandemic, and likely more than anyone else.

In an effort to help out, Crocs will be offering free pairs of Crocs, plus free shipping, to healthcare workers on the frontlines of the crisis. The free shoes — either Crocs Classic Clogs or Crocs At Work styles — will be given away every day for a limited time at noon Eastern daily.

“Understanding there will likely be a large influx of online requests through this initiative, patience is greatly appreciated while the program gets off the ground and orders are fulfilled daily,” the company said in a press release.

There are a limited number of free Crocs given away each day at the giveaway’s website, and the site might put you in line after you click through. If you’re unsuccessful today, you can try again tomorrow — though Crocs hasn’t set an end date for the freebies.

“Crocs is immediately prepared to fulfill and ship up to 10,000 pairs per day to our heroes in healthcare,” Crocs President and CEO Andrew Rees said in a press release. “The duration of our giveaway will depend on our level of inventory and the amount of requests we receive. These workers have our deepest respect, and we are humbled to be able to answer their call and provide whatever we can to help during this unprecedented time.”

Other businesses offering freebies to those in the healthcare industry include Starbucks, who will be giving front-line responders free coffee through May 3. Starbucks says any customer who identifies as a front-line responder to the COVID-19 outbreak will receive a free tall brewed coffee, hot or iced.

All company-operated Starbucks locations are currently drive-thru only, though there may be some exceptions for locations that serve in or around hospitals and healthcare centers.

Krispy Kreme will also be providing all healthcare workers with free dozens of glazed doughnuts every Monday, from March 30-May 11. Krispy Kreme says anyone in the healthcare industry can simply go to their local Krispy Kreme, show their work ID and say how many dozens they need. (Yes, the deal includes multiple dozens!)
