You can skip some of the back-to-school shopping frenzy with this free giveaway. Wireless retailer TCC is giving away free backpacks and school supplies at select Wireless Zone and TCC Verizon Wireless stores on July 21. The backpacks will be passed out on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure you arrive early if you want to leave with some new, free school supplies.
The School Rocks Backpack Giveaway event will take place from 1-4 p.m., and children must be present in order to receive the backpack.
This is the sixth year in a row that the event has been held, and it’s all part of TCC’s way giving back to deserving communities.
In a press release, the wireless retailer announced, “Each year, it costs more and more to send a child to school, and we wanted to do our part and make it a little easier for families to afford these essential supplies. We want as many kids as possible to show up on their first day prepared, confident, and with a brand new backpack.”
The backpacks will be passed out while supplies last, and considering how much it can cost to get a child ready for the school year, this could save families a lot of money on school supplies.
According to research from the Huntington Backpack Index, it cost $637 to send an elementary school child to school in 2018. For middle schoolers, the cost to families is $941, and it’s $1,355 for high schoolers. So, the more opportunities to score freebies, the better!
While the event will only take place at select locations, there are stores participating all across the country. You can find participating locations in states such as Connecticut, Ohio, Wisconsin and other states.
