Dairy Queen is welcoming the start of spring in the best possible way: by handing out free ice cream!

On Monday, March 20 — the official first day of spring — head over to your local DQ for a free small vanilla soft-serve cone. There is a limit of one free cone per customer while supplies last at participating non-mall DQ locations. The deal is not valid on digital or delivery orders.

To find a location that’s participating, check Dairy Queen’s Free Cone Day website.

DQ’s Free Cone Day began in 2014, but the event was canceled in both 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

Free Cone Day not only kicks off the beginning of spring but also what the company calls “‘Treat Szn’ — the time of year when the weather warms and the only things that should be cold are sweet treats that come in a cone or cup,” DQ says in their press release.

“We like to think of Free Cone Day as the beginning of our favorite season – treat season! As we welcome the first day of spring, we invite all fans to stop by a DQ restaurant, get their free cone and make great memories with friends and family,” says Maria Hokanson, DQ’s executive vice president of marketing.

Will you be adding a trip to Dairy Queen to your plans on March 20?
