Amazon Is Hiring 100,000 Full-Time Workers: Here’s How To Apply

Do you spend half of your income every month on Amazon? It’s easy to do! From books to coffee tables to paper towels to gifts for anyone and everyone—there’s almost nothing you can’t buy on Amazon.

What if, instead of giving money to Amazon, the company gave money to you in the form of a full-time job with benefits? In a recent press release, Amazon announced that it is planning to hire 100,000 more full-time employees with benefits in the next 18 months.

“Innovation is one of our guiding principles at Amazon, and it’s created hundreds of thousands of American jobs. These jobs are not just in our Seattle headquarters or in Silicon Valley—they’re in our customer service network, fulfillment centers and other facilities in local communities throughout the country,” Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said in the release.


These opportunities will be for people in a variety of fields, including engineers and software developers. Some of the positions are entry-level and some include on-the-job training, according to the press release.

Why are there so many job openings? Amazon is planning to expand its corporate headquarters in Seattle to cover 10 million square feet across 30 buildings. And they’re building or expanding existing fulfillment centers across the country in Texas, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Florida and New Jersey. Other states will also have fulfillment centers and corporate offices, so be on the lookout for a job opening near your area. In addition to hiring 100,000 people, Amazon will also hire an additional 25,000 veterans and military spouses over the next five years.
