All essential workers—not just those in healthcare—can now get free Crocs

If you’re an essential worker in any industry, you can now enter to win a free pair of Crocs.

Since March 25, the shoe company has teamed up with other sponsoring companies to give away upwards of 10,000 free pairs of Crocs every weekday to healthcare workers through its “A Free Pair for Healthcare” program.

Now Crocs has added all essential workers to its eligibility list for specific “Pairs that Care” days.

“Whether you’re a server, line cook, grocery store attendant, delivery driver, retail employee, or part of any industry that has been significantly affected, our #FreePairFriday is for you,” Crocs posted on May 13.

Unemployed workers are also included, as Crocs posted on May 15 to its Instagram account.

“Whether you have lost your job, you’re an essential worker, or someone you know is in need of easy-to-clean shoes, you can request a free pair at 12 pm ET from the link in our bio. We appreciate your willingness to allow those in need the opportunity to receive these shoes.”

The shoes are given away on the honor system, with recipients filling out a contact form with their job title and place of work. Crocs does ask that “you please only take advantage of this offer if you are in need, if you’re not sure where your next paycheck is coming from or if you could use easy-to-clean shoes in your essential line of work.”

To apply for a free pair, you need to place yourself in line daily and see if you make it through the waitlist. The queue activates at 12 p.m. Eastern time. Crocs asked for patience as this freebie has been in high demand and fills its daily availability quickly!

A nursing assistant posted on Facebook on May 15 that it took her multiple tries to get her Crocs, but they finally arrived.

“I’m a CNA working in a long term care & rehab facility. I tried for 4 weeks every day,” Miranda Hatcher posted. “I finally got through on 4/29 & my crocs were delivered today! So thankful for Crocs & their generosity.”
