Soon after Amazon’s purchase of Whole Foods, it promised to lower prices on the retailer’s health, natural and organic food offerings. This could be the end of the store’s nickname of “Whole Paycheck.” Now, they are taking it a step further and giving thousands of people a chance to earn a whole paycheck at the supermarket chain.

On Thursday, Nov. 2, Whole Foods is hosting a national hiring day event at all of its locations across the United States. They plan to hire 6,000 new employees. In fact, if you walk in for an interview that day, you could land a position on the spot.

Here is what you need to know if you are interested in working for Amazon’s grocery store chain.

Don’t Wait

You can apply now and attend the hiring event with a bit of an advantage. Visit the Whole Foods website and complete an online application.

Choose a Store

If you already know of a Whole Foods store in your area, choose this location as the one at which you want to work. Not sure where the closest location is? Use the site’s store locator to search by ZIP Code or city and state.

Pick a Position

Once you have selected a location, you can browse available job openings at that particular store, which may include anything from cook or cake decorator to barista or wine buyer.

Choose a job title and complete an online application. Alternatively, you can apply using your LinkedIn profile. You will need to create a Whole Foods account in order to apply.

Show Up for an Interview

Head to the store at which you applied on Nov. 2 for an interview. You could be offered a job on the spot. Tip: Show up early before someone else snags the position you are vying for.

Enjoy the Perks

Glassdoor reports that most Whole Foods employees average more than $11 an hour. Other benefits include a 20 percent employee discount from day one, flexible schedules, health benefits for full- and part-time employees and opportunities for advancement.

In addition, Whole Foods has made Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” every year since the list began in 1998. Maybe it’s the right company for you, too.
