Veterans Day is Friday, Nov. 11, and if you’re hoping to give something special to the veteran in your life or find a family-friendly way to celebrate, Home Depot’s got a way to help you do it.
Hip2Save points out that all stores will offer a FREE workshop for kids to construct a toy helicopter this coming Saturday, Nov. 5. The workshops are for kids ages 5-12.
Now, whether you want your child to attend this with their veteran grandpa, have them create this as a gift to their veteran father or mother or just want them to participate in something fun in honor of the holiday, this is a great way to get them hands-on and learning about what makes Veterans Day so special.
You can head over to the Home Depot website to sign up for the class now. It’ll be hosted on Nov. 5 from 9 a.m – 12 p.m., just in time to have the helicopter completed and wrapped by Nov. 11.
Here’s a description of the class from Home Depot’s website: “Join our hands-on workshop in honor of Veterans Day, and you and your child can build a toy helicopter with turning blades! Once the toy helicopter is built, your child can decorate it with paint & stickers to create a mini-military vehicle.”
And if your children enjoy that workshop, go ahead and sign them up for the next one on Nov. 26 where they can make a holiday picture frame ornament to hang on the tree. They’ll get to paint it and customize it to make it a little extra special.
So, if you’ve got some Saturdays open on the calendar, you may really want to consider heading over to your local Home Depot. Because they’ve got some crafts your family is sure to love—and they are FREE. Nothing like some extra one on one time with them before the holiday chaos kicks in anyways, right? Take advantage while you can!
