Your children can earn a free book this summer with the Barnes & Noble summer reading program.

This is a great deal and an easy way to get your kids excited about reading this summer. Plus, they’ll stay up to speed so that when school starts again in the fall they can jump right back in!

The program is available for students in first through sixth grade.

How To Earn A Free Book

Here’s what you have to do:

  1. Encourage your child to read any eight books and record them in the Barnes & Noble summer reading journal (available in English and Spanish). Ask your child to write a little bit about his or her favorite part of the book and why.
  2. Bring your completed journal with eight books to Barnes & Noble between May 16 and September 5.
  3. Choose your free book!

There’s a list at the back of each journal of all the free books that are available, which should help your kids stay motivated all summer. H

“A book is a magical thing,” according to Barnes & Noble. “Once you open one up and start to read, you can find yourself transported to any place in the world, any time in history, or any realm of fantasy an author can invent or your imagination can envision. The best part is that you can reach the most exciting destinations without ever leaving home.”
