Hotels can often be the most expensive part of booking a trip. It’s not terribly hard to find a great deal on flights, but trying to find a reasonably priced hotel (that’s not a garbage dump) can feel like a lost cause.

Luckily, these 10 hotel chains offer discounts to senior citizens – so if you’re in your golden years, pack those bags!

1. Marriott

If you’re 62 or older, you can get a 15 percent discount (or more!) on a room at Marriott hotels around the world. This discount is available at all Marriott Hotels, including Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott. You can book online or call and ask for the senior discount.

2. Red Roof Inn

This discount takes a little more sleuthing than the others. Though you won’t see any mention of a senior discount on the Red Roof Inn homepage, there will be an option to click “Senior Rate” when you book online. You can save as much as 10 percent on some rooms, but you’ll have to do a little research to get the deal.

3. Best Western

Best Western calls seniors its “mature guests,” which we think is an awesome way of putting it.

All you have to do is join AARP and you can snag deals at this hotel chain from the tender age of 50 on up. Otherwise, if you’re 55 or older, you can get 10 percent off the rate of a room (at minimum!).

Other perks for senior citizens include complimentary hotel room upgrades, early check in and late checkout and a continental breakfast. For all of the information, check out the Best Western Hotels & Resorts website.

 4. Crowne Plaza

If you’re at least 62 and have an AARP or another retired organization membership, you can get discounted room rates at all of the Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts. This also includes chains such as Holiday Inn, Candlewood Suites and InterContinental Hotels.

5. Hyatt

Hyatt Hotels offers an incredible deal for seniors at its participating locations. You can save up to 50 percent on the daily hotel rate in some Hyatt locations around the U.S. and Canada. If you make your reservation in advance, and have two people, you might qualify for this excellent deal. But check out the terms and conditions before you book, just to make sure you have all the info.

6. Choice Hotels

Choice Hotels includes brands like Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn, EconoLodge and many more. If you’re 60 or older, again you can again save 10 percent if you book in advance. And remember that little tip about joining AARP? You can score deals even earlier once you sign up.

7. La Quinta

At La Quinta Inns & Suites, you can nab awesome savings if you’re 65 or older (or have that handy AARP membership we keep harping about). All you have to do is book online or call and ask for the senior rate in order to get the discount. You’ll also get free high-speed internet and a free breakfast.

8. Motel 6

Tom Bodett will leave a light on for you – and give you a great deal if you’re over 60 years of age. Motel 6 offers a 10 percent discount to seniors who are 60 or older. The rate is available at every Motel 6 across the country, but you will have to call and book over the phone in order to get it.

9. Omni Hotels

Omni Hotels & Resorts offer senior discounts starting at age 55. Live your best life at any of the ultra-luxe Omni locations across the country and Canada. If you’re planning a big trip, this is the perfect deal to snag.

10. Wyndham Hotels

If you’re 60 or older, you can get a discounted stay at the Wyndham Hotel Group, which includes hotels like Days Inn, Ramada, Travelodge and many more. Though the exact discount isn’t explained in detail on the website, you can get up to a 10 percent discount at Ramada.
